“Both sides (of the story)”

(David is talking to his children Amanda and Matthew who have been fighting … )

David: All right! All right! Knock it off! What are you two fighting about?

Amanda: Matthew threw his soda all over the picture I’m painting.

Matthew: That’s not true! I did not!

David: Wait! I want to hear both sides of the story. Amanda you first.

Amanda: I was here painting when Matthew came and spilled his soda on my picture.

David: Matthew what do you have to say?

Matthew: I tripped on Amanda’s shoes that she didn’t put away and the soda went on her picture. It was an accident.

David: Is that true Matthew?

Matthew: Yes, that’s what happened.
