(Al and Ed are talking at work … )

Al: We’ve got an 8 AM tee time on Saturday.

Ed: That’s too early. It’s too cold to play that early.

Al: What are you talking about? 8 am was your idea.

Ed: That was before the cold snap.

Al: Are you going to flake out on our golf game?

Ed: Of course not. Just get a later tee time.

Al: What if we can’t get a later time?

Ed: Then I’ll suck it up and play at eight.

Al: Okay. I’ll call the golf course.

Ed: Thanks for calling.

* tee time: 골프 시작시간

“I always call for a tee time. Why don’t you call this time?”

* flake out (on): 하기로 약속한 후에 꽁무니빼다

“She flaked out on us the last time we went skiing.”

* suck it up: (걱정하는 대신) 꾹참고 직면하다

“He sucked it up and told her he didn’t want to get married.”
