(Rita is visiting her aunt Nancy … )

Nancy: So do you like your new job?

Rita: Too soon to tell. Ask me again in a couple of weeks.

Nancy: Would you like some more coffee?

Rita: Just a little bit thank you.

Nancy: So this new job is a step-up right?

Rita: I’m an office manager now and the pay is more.

Nancy: That’s good.

Rita: Aunt Nancy how much longer are you going to work? Any thoughts about retiring?

Nancy: I’ve thought about retiring but I don’t see it happening soon.

Rita: Well you still have time to think about it.

* (it’s) too soon to tell:

“It’s too soon to tell whether he will be a good soccer player or not.”

* a step up: 승진 한 단계 향상된 상태

“His new job is a step up from what he was doing.”

* I don’t see it happening:

“Jim beating me at bowling? I don’t see it happening.”
