(David and his wife Dina are preparing for dinner … )

David: Let’s take a walk after dinner tonight.

Dina: I think I’m going to pass.

David: Why? You love to take walks.

Dina: I do but I feel a cold coming on.

David: You’re starting to feel sick?

Dina: Yes a little.

David: Can I get you anything?

Dina: No thanks. I’ll just drink tons of water and take some Vitamin C.

David: Are you feeling tired?

Dina: Yes. If I don’t feel better in the morning I’ll call in sick.

* (one) is going (or have ) to pass (on): 사양하다

“I have to pass on lunch with you tomorrow. How about next week?”

* tons of (something): 아주 많이

“I have tons of pens and pencils in my desk.”

“I have to call in sick because my cold is getting worse.”
