어디서 동영상을 하나 발견했어요.
‘놀자~’가 “Let’s play”가 아니라네요.
아래와 같은 표현을 사용하라고 동영상의 여인이 설명해요~
-Let’s hang out sometime!
-We hung out yesterday.
-I hung out with my friends.
그런데~~!!!! 그렇지 않아요~
이런 간단한게 궁금한 제가 아니죠~!!!!
“Let’s play tomorrow” 라는 표현은 아주 흔히 사용하는 표현입니다.
자주 듣던 표현이라, 궁금증이 몰려왔죠~
또 걸어다니는 영어사전에게 질문을 마구마구 퍼부었습니다.
각각 표현을 사용하는 상황이 달라요~
Let’s play 사용할 때,
Its usually means you will do something tomorrow
like go to amusement park or go drinking
if you wants to play video game together tomorrow
(예시가…. 영어사전님이 게임을 원하시겠지.. 설마 내가 게임을 원하겠나요?ㅋㅋㅋ)
You would say to me lets play tomorrow
Let’s hang out 사용할 때,
If you are going to just go shopping and maybe go eat and stuff
you would say more let’s hang out tomorrow
If you wants to eat dinner tomorrow
you would say lets hang out tomorrow

놀이공원 술마시기 게임은 Play, 쇼핑 밥먹기 Hang out 이래요.
또질문) 마시는거는 “Play”고 저녁먹는거는 “Hang out” 이라고?
Yes. like DOING something, playing a sport, being active is play

hang out = you are meeting a person, and decide to go do something

Yes. but play is for active (usually sports, or games)
play = when you plan to go do something, and ask someone to go with you
hang out = you are meeting a person, and decide to go do something
또또또또질문) 그럼 “내일 저녁 먹자”는 이미 결정한 거잖아?
becuase it does not matter what you eat, or what you drink, it is the person
결론은, 활동적인 행동의 무엇인가(영화, 놀이공원, 게임 등등)가 더 중요한 상황에는 Play
어디서 만나서 무엇을 하든, 그 친구를 만나는 것에 더 큰 의미를 두면 Hang out
아 언제나 그렇듯, 이렇게 영어의 소소한 차이를 알아내는 게 힘들어요ㅠ
