“keep track of (somebody)”

(Kara and Tammy are having coffee … )

Kara: Isn’t your birthday coming up?

Tammy: Don’t remind me.

Kara: It’s the big four-o isn’t it?

Tammy: Why do you always remember my birthday? I can’t keep track of yours.

Kara: You’re my friend. Your birthday is important to me.

Tammy: I don’t believe that for a second.

Kara: How can you say that?

Tammy: You can’t remember what you’re supposed to do tomorrow. Your memory isn’t that good.

Kara: Okay okay. You know me too well. My mother’s birthday is on the same day.

Tammy: I got the feeling that it was something like that.
